Our long-standing member, Jacques Picard, was made a Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honour and decorated on Friday 30 June at the Toulouse Commercial Court by Mrs Belloubet, a lawyer and current Minister of Education.
Originally from Brittany, Mr Picard has spent his professional career at the head of the Cobredia automotive group (car dealerships), founded in 1968. This company now has nearly 1,400 employees and 62 dealerships, all located in Brittany. He was President of the Brest Commercial Court from 1991 to 1994.
After moving to Toulouse in 2000, he chaired the city’s Commercial Court for eight years from 2000 to 2008. His most notable achievement was the creation of a dedicated business unit to provide early assistance to companies in difficulty.
Aside from his professional activities, Mr Picard loves dictionaries. On this subject, he has created a site called “Dicopathe“, which you can discover by clicking on the link.
A lover of books and history, he is also passionate about Lapérouse.
ALAF is honoured to have such a prominent figure in its ranks, and would like to congratulate him on his dedication both outside and within our association. It is thanks to him that we will be present in Brest as part of the “Tonnerre de Brest” festival in July, and that a conference will be held there which we will tell you about soon.
Pertoldi Reine-Marie and Pestel Jean-Marie, friends and members of our association, represented us at the reception, at the invitation of the recipient.
